Crunchy Caramel Blondies

Cook Time: 25-30 mins
Yields: 10

Ingredients

  • butter - 1 1/2 sticks
  • light brown sugar - 2 1/4 cup
  • all purpose flour - 1 3/4
  • baking powder - 2 teaspoons
  • salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • eggs - 2, large
  • vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • chopped walnuts - 3/4 cup
  • rushed sugar waffles - 1/2 cup (optional)
  • toffee chips - 1/2 cup

Instructions:

  1. Place brown sugar and butter in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and let to cool.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  3. In a mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs and vanilla extract, stir until smooth. Then fold in the crushed waffles, toffee, and nuts.
  4. Spread the dough into a 9x13 greased baking dish.
  5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
