Crunchy Caramel Blondies
Ingredients
- butter - 1 1/2 sticks
- light brown sugar - 2 1/4 cup
- all purpose flour - 1 3/4
- baking powder - 2 teaspoons
- salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- eggs - 2, large
- vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- chopped walnuts - 3/4 cup
- rushed sugar waffles - 1/2 cup (optional)
- toffee chips - 1/2 cup
Instructions:
- Place brown sugar and butter in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until melted and smooth. Remove from the heat and let to cool.
- Preheat oven to 350 F.
- In a mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add eggs and vanilla extract, stir until smooth. Then fold in the crushed waffles, toffee, and nuts.
- Spread the dough into a 9x13 greased baking dish.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
